jane iredale Absence Oil Control Primer features a lightweight cream to powder formula that absorbs oil, controls shine and may be used as a primer. Totally translucent, this face primer minimizes the appearance of large pores beneath a luminous matte finish. Mineral UV filters protect skin from environmental damage, keeping it looking smooth, even and healthy.
Use alone or under any mineral base. Apply to oily facial areas with special sponge included. Absence is also an effective primer on any skin type.

Excellent for minimizing pores!
I have to admit, I really didn't like this product at first. I used it all over my face (following the directions carefully and not applying too much), but found that it didn't help with shine at all (in fact, I think it made my face a bit more greasy looking). HOWEVER, I decided to try it just on the areas where my pores were enlarged (on my upper cheeks), and it worked PERFECTLY!!! This is definitely the BEST pore-minimizing product I have used (and I have tried many--even the super expensive brands). Another great product by Jane Iredale. :)

pleasant scented primer with SPF
its a white paste like primer, smells wonderfully pleasant. Little goes a long way as too much makes you look like the Ice Queen. Not a good look especially when i'm on the tan side. Does a good job of controlling oil and reduces need to blot face. Great that it already comes with SPF.

Best primer for oily skin!
This was one of the items in my very first order of Jane Iredale products, and after using it for a month I can really see a difference in my normally oily skin. I'm using it under the Pure Pressed Base, PureMatte Finishing Powder, and the Balance mist. At first it didn't seem to make much difference (still oily), then I ordered the Jane Iredale Magic Mitt and use that instead of my regular facial cleanser (Philosophy Purity) and Clarisonic brush and it's noticeably less oily now! I still have to use oil blotting sheets at mid-day but I get a lot less oil now. Altogether I'm so pleased with all the products!

The absence provides a good base for the powder. Throughout the day, oil starts to build up on my skin, but using the absence absorbs the oil and I don't get as shiny buy the end of the day.

Helps keep my makeup on all day! It's so great...when I don't use it my makeup is gone by noon. When I first started using it, my face wouldn't be oily all day but I think my new makeup is too oily or something but I have problems with oil again.

Great Base for Oily Skin/Enlarged Pores
Absence works extremely well for skin that tends to be oily and have enlarged pores. It really helps to give the skin a more matte appearance and keep the shine away almost all day. It's also great for minimizing enlarged pores. Just use a small amount and blend it over your face well, then apply your foundation over it. Now that I've discovered it, I cannot live without this product.

Keeps my shine at bay
This product definitely helps my foundation (JI Liquid Minerals) stay matte, but it also means my makeup doesn't feel as light as before. I'm a little worried that it's clogging my pores because I'm having some breakout issues, but I don't know for sure. The light is super-light...I'm fair, but if I do continue to use it, I will need to order the tan very soon (well before summer). All in all, it works...but I'm not totally sure it's worth it.
