Love the product, dermstore has a bad batch
I love the Obagi Matt sunscreen, although it is not the most Matt sunscreen I have tried. It does dry down nicely though. I love the high zinc percentage and lack of white cast on this sunscreen. I love the size too. Small enough to travel with, but still a substantial amount. I noticed the past 2 sunscreens I have purchased from dermstore have been super gritty and has he slightest pinkish color to it. I called Obagi (they are wonderful over the phone btw) and I was informed that the slight pinkish hue is normal, but the grittiness is not. They told me the grittiness does not impact the spf value and it is not too much of an issue for me so I will continue to use it. If grit is an issue for you then I would purchase from the Obagi website directly. Derm store may have low turnover and haven’t sold through the bad batch they received. For the record, I have normal, olive (Fitzpatrick type 2/3), with rosacea and multiple skin allergies.

My Favorite Sun Shield
I love the Obagi Sun Shield Matte. It goes on smoothly and does not turn white. I do not prefer a tinted sun skin and this sun screen fits the bill. Gives your skin a nice dewy appearance.

So Gritty
I wanted to love this product. But, the texture is super gritty. It genuinely feels like an exfoliator. Needless to say, my makeup didn't apply smoothly with this. It also burned my eyes by then end of the day and it wasn't even a hot day. Surely this must have been a defective batch or a new formulation because I can't imagine anyone would like it as it is now.

I tried this for the first time cause my current moisturizer wasn’t working anymore . I am very pleased how my skin fells very soft. It does have a very minimal white cast but does go away. It is not sticky or thick. It spreads on your skin very smooth. Love ❤️ t.

New formula is terrible
I have been using this product for over 15 years and it used to be great! It is called Matte, but the application is very greasy and gritty. It produces a high shine and the grit does not allow my makeup to go on nicely. The sunscreen aspect is good, but I do not like this new formula.

Grainy
I have been using Elta MD UV Clear and was excited to try this. Definitely will be sticking with Elta MD. The Obagi feels like applying sunscreen at the beach. Kind of grainy and sandy feeling. It dries down clear on my skin which is nice. No visible white cast but smells like drug store, store brand sunscreen.
