SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.
Key Ingredients:
- 2% Dioic Acid: naturally derived from vegetables, this ingredient helps reduce excess sebum
- 0.3% LHA (Caproloyl Salicylic Acid): a lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA, evenly exfoliates skin, decongests pores, and refines the skin’s surface
- 1.5% Salicylic Acid: a beta-hydroxy acid refines pores and helps reduce the formation of acne

Terrible Customer Service
I love this product and have always purchased it from DermStore. I placed my periodic order of this product on November 16th, then received an email the next day saying the item was on backorder. I still had a bit of the product left, so I was not very concerned and figured the wait would not be very long for it to ship. Fast forward to this week, when I logged in to check the status of the order. I should note that I had received no communication from Dermstore about the status of this order after the November 17th email. When I logged into my account, I found that my order had been cancelled. I was confused by this, because I had not been refunded any money nor had anyone told me my order was being cancelled. I had not cancelled it myself. I called Customer Service where I spoke to an extremely rude representative. She explained that apparently, "someone working in the warehouse" had decided that my order had been on backorder for too long, therefore this person cancelled it. I asked why I had not been informed about the cancellation. The representative told me to check my spam email; I responded that I had and there was zero notice of this cancellation nor was there a refund of my purchase-approximately $160 is still floating around in the interwebs, somewhere. The representative did not seem to understand why any of this was concerning- the random order cancellation, the lack of communication, zero refund, etc. At this point I asked to escalate my complaint. She begrudgingly said she would and took the needed information. Needless to say, I haven't received a call back, an email, nothing. Beyond disappointed in Dermstore and their lack of apparent processes for communicating, refunding, or taking customer complaints seriously. I will seek to purchase this product elsewhere and would recommend others to stay away from this company- unless you enjoy spending $160 only to never see it again!

Good serum for adult acne.
Been using it for a month now and so far I like it. It helps my hormonal acne problem around chin and nose area. This is a spot treatment serum and not advising to use for the whole face, it dries out my skin.

Stopped working
I have used Blemish Age Defense for 2 years now and am on my 5th bottle. The first year it worked great at controlling the adult hormonal acne on my chin, but now, I don't notice any benefits. Not sure if the formula changed or my skin just adapted. No other product change or diet change so I guess this isn't my "go-to" anymore. Time to start over and find something else...

Good for Stubborn Adult Acne
My dermatologist told me I would get hormonal acne around my period until I went through menopause. :( I was using prescription strength antibiotic lotion for many years, but I still had some massive cysts coming through. Maybe I got used to it over time... I just started using the Skinceuticals line of antioxidants, and then purchased the Blemish + Age for my problem spots. Yes, it can be drying, but it is very effective with shrinking the hormonal acne before an eruption occurs (and then the dreaded scarring). I use all over my chin at night, and then I spot treat whatever else may be on my face during the daytime. I haven't used it long enough to see if it will fade the old acne scars on my chin, but I have my fingers crossed!
