SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.

- 2% Dioic Acid: naturally derived from vegetables, this ingredient helps reduce excess sebum
- 0.3% LHA (Caproloyl Salicylic Acid): a lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA, evenly exfoliates skin, decongests pores, and refines the skin’s surface

Saving Grace
I've been using this for about 2 full years ever since my esthetician sold me it. It lasts about 3 months for me by using it 2x Daily. It smells a little alcoholy and the little burn it gives leaves me feeling cleaned. I use after I wash and before I moisturize. It clears small acne but certain things aren't cured by this such as black heads and hormonal breakouts. I realize I need to give my skin a break when it's getting red and not bright anymore. Too much acid can hurt so you need to know how much your skin can tolerate.

Good product!
I have oily skin, large clogged pores, acne scars, hormonal cystic acne, and now at 30 I am starting to get fine lines around my eyes and mouth. I started using this in the hopes that it would help with all of the above! My esthetician calls this product "liquid gold". It does seem to make a big difference in keeping non-cystic blemishes at bay, and while using this my fine lines seemed to freeze where they were- my skin hasn't aged a bit in the year or so that I've used this, which is quite lovely! As far as my oily skin, clogged pores, and hormonal cystic acne, I wasn't getting the results that I wanted from this (I use this twice a day). So, I added Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel to my routine. The combination of these two have made all of the difference in the world! My pores are cleaner and smaller and my blemishes heal in a matter of days (it used to take weeks or months). I do really like this, but I am going to try Acid Fix by Omorovicza next and compare the results as the reviews on that have been extremely high.

Amazing Product but Cannot Use with Retinol
This serum was recommended by a Skinceuticals rep to be used daily each morning while doing Skinceuticals Retinol .5 at least 1-2 times per week at night. Note that I do not use the Blemish + Age Defense at the same time as the Retinol. However, my face peels significantly more when I have used this quasi-daily even taking a break the morning after using Retinol. The peeling is so much that wearing makeup shows the peeling even more. Once I stopped using this serum all over my face, the reaction to the Retinol was much less intense and my skin is less dry with much less peeling. So now I use the serum as a spot treatment and it does work amazing. If you have dry skin already...especially in the winter, I would recommend this product, but gave it 4 stars because it does not combine well with consistent Retinol use. For me at the age of 40, consistent Retinol use is more important than using this serum daily.

This product has done WONDERS for my breakouts. Since I have become a gym instructor, I have been experiencing terrible breakouts. Goodbye Texture!
I thought it was a spot treatment and I wasn't too interested in it because I usually like to have at least 2% salicylic acid as a spot treatment (and this has 1.5%). But I am really glad I took a closer look at the ingredients and really gave this a try because it is one of my favorite products I've tried. (I have never once used it as a spot treatment - I spread it out evenly where I need it.) It has greatly reduced my fine lines and wrinkles as well as helped in preventing acne. It exfoliates skin, decongests pores and refines the skin's surface. IT ACTUALLY WORKS! The texture of my skin has improved immensely. It did take about 4-5 weeks of consistent daily till I noticed drastic results.

No new acne since starting product!
I've been fighting the recurrence of acne in the past year, trying a lot of different kinds of products. Some things seemed to help, but I'd still have one or two larger pimples intermittently throughout that led to more scarring/hyperpigmentation, etc.. since starting this though, I really haven't had any new acne (knock on wood..)! I use it at night after retinol and with moisturizer on top.. not irritating or too drying. Whew!!

My favorite product!
I can't say enough good things about this serum! I have been suffering from hormonal acne for a little while now and this has been the ONLY thing that has helped and kept the blemishes away. I've been using it for a little over a month and my acne has cleared up! & my face is glowing I was mainly breaking out on my cheeks and my chin. I have been applying it both morning and night all over my face and then going back to spot treat on the actually blemishes & I swear after doing this they were GONE.
