I use this in combination with CEFerulic and have for more years than I can remember. My skin is tighter, at 70 y.o.a., than any of my friends. People comment all the time. Overpriced for what it is
I'm not sure what warrants the price tag for this product. It only contains hyaluronic acid and panthenol, both of which are readily commercially available and much more affordable in other formulations. However, having used Skinceuticals AOX Vitamin C / E / ferulic acid patented formula, I decided to take the plunge and try this out as a moisturizing formula that could potentially replace my CeraVe during the daytime (as it can get heavy underneath sunscreen during the day). Application: The serum feels cosmetically elegant; just 3-4 mere drops can cover the entire face and neck. While the skin feels tacky upon initial application, the serum absorbs pretty quickly into the skin and gives a slightly dewy finish. Layering: I was hoping that this serum would serve as a planarization layer on my face and smooth it out before sunscreen application, but my sunscreen balls up and looks very haggard at the end of a day! Side Effects/Reactions: After about 3 consecutive days of using the product, I started getting closed comedones on my cheeks and around my mouth. I'm surprised since I've used the active ingredients in the past without issue; however, the ingredients listed on the back of my shipment are different than the simplified list on Dermstore - my formulation included sodium benzoate, polyquaternium, etc. Perhaps this is an old batch with a different recipe? Recommendation: Try out a sample size before you purchase, and shop your options - there's several other serums on the market with the same active ingredients at about 1/3 of the cost.
