SkinMedica's Age Defense Retinol Complex .25 is formulated to renew the skin's tone and texture without irritating the skin. Retinol helps combat the signs of premature aging while magnolia bark extract soothes inflammation. Ideal for use twice a week to build tolerance to formula.

Apply in the evening after cleansing and toning and before applying your moisturizer. If a retinol product has never been used before, begin twice a week 2-3 days apart, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each evening or as tolerated. Apply to the entire face. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.
Caution: Do not use if you are pregnant, lactating or planning to become pregnant. Mild redness, peeling and irritation are expected when using this product. Use daily sun protection with SPF 30 or higher and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week following discontinuation.

Very Gentle
I have very dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and this is very gentle. I have never used a retinol and was worried the first time applying that it would sting or hurt my skin but it did none of that - didn't cause any pain or redness or anything. There is some slight peeling - but it's extremely mild and nothing crazy, just appears like dry skin. I do use very hydrating products afterwards and the next day so that probably helps. I think this was a great choice for a starter retinol. I can't wait to see results after using this more often!

Perfect starter retinol
