In my routine for 2 years

I rebuy this every 4 months or so and apply in the morning after toner and before moisturizer. I feel it helps to keep my skin tone even and acne at bay. Love the slight tingle it gives when applying!

Silky smooth texture

I love how this glides on my skin. It provides a layer of protection and the vitamins seep into your skin. My skin looks more radiant especially around the eyes. Once you try this you won't want to live without it!

So far, so good

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have been using this serum nearly every day for the past 3-4 weeks. My skin didn't respond well to one of the Skinceuticals serums (red, itchy, splotchy), so I was nervous about using another serum. I first tried this SkinMedica serum on one cheek during a weekend when I didn't have to go anywhere. I felt some tingling but nothing unpleasant. After 24 hours of no reaction, I put it on my full face. Again some tingling but nothing bad. For the first week or so, I only put it on every other day so my skin could get used to it. Since then I've been putting it on every day and I'm seeing some positive improvements with the evenness of my complexion and the redness around my nose. I have generally oily skin and this has actually helped a bit with oil control and shine. I already got another bottle for when this one runs out and will continue using it. Expensive for the size. No weird smell, texture feels silky. Like any serum though, give it time to absorb before applying your moisturizer.

Great Alternative Slow Release formula

I decided to try out SkinMedica's Vitamin CE complex, after using the other popular brand for a while. The texture of this product is light and easy to apply. It does not tingle or sting my sensitive face. In addition, Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate has been shown in peer-reviewed studies to penetrate both the epidermis and dermis. This product contains both Ascorbic acid and Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate as Vitamin C, so it's a win-win.

Too Much Silicone & Unknown Vitamin C Concentration

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm a skincare nerd & can't believe I didn't notice the vitamin C % isn't listed. My fault & a major turn-off. If I'm going to spend this much money on a product, I expect more transparency. Second, it's a very silicone-heavy product, which stabilizes the Vitamin C & makes the serum easy to spread (so a little goes a long way), but leaves gray clumps (excess product) on my fingers, which is wasteful and not great to see as a consumer. An easy fix is to mix it with a tiny bit of moisturizer. I won't speak to the efficacy since I don't closely scrutinize my skin & don't have major discoloration; I buy vitamin C serums as a supplement/preventative measure for my skin health, like a multi-vitamin. Would I buy again? Probably not, since the vitamin C percentage isn't disclosed.

Didn't like it

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I bought this product based on the great reviews but I didn't like it. Everytime I used it, it made my face tingle and burn. I used the whole bottle because it is pretty expensive but I won't buy it again. As far as the results are concerned, I didn't notice any change in my skin.
