Slip pure silk pillowcases are of the highest quality so they are machine washable, but they are still silk and need as much care as we can give them. Always use a pH neutral detergent and/or fabric softener. Silk is a natural fiber and washing in a solution that's too acidic or alkaline can cause the silk to harden in a single wash. If you can't find a detergent that specifies pH level, opt for one that specifies silk. If your machine doesn't specify exact heat settings, wash on either cold or just one level above cold. If you wish to maximize the life of your pillowcase, hand washing is the ultimate method.

Traditional pillowcases don't slip, causing damage to hair and delicate facial skin. Feels so good!!!
I got the white and it's more of an off white. This feels so good and makes my hair look good. No noticeable effects on my skin though. I sleep with wet hair and that seems to fine.

Nice quality...gold case=rich color...comfortable...fits standard pillow with a little extra room to spare...had to steam case before using...Have curly hair and it is flat in the morning (if that helps you decide)...helps with frizz/static cling so to speak...tip-put face cream on and give it time to soak in before you go to bed so you don't stain the pillowcase...Have not washed it yet, but I suggest you carefully follow directions because I purchased another brand and put it in the dryer for a short period of time...end result...not good...Purchased case on sale and I would buy another one, but only on sale...$85...a bit pricey! I do believe that this pillowcase helps limit the "deepness" of wrinkles over time. Happy Snoozing!

I started using one of these when I was in college, and I haven't slept on anything else since. Absolutely helps the hair, and maybe I'm too young to say anything about the skin benefits but I can say I never wake up with creases or wrinkles on my face. I had my first slip pillow case for about 2.5 years. Yes, it does fall apart eventually, but I find it to be worth it. I still keep my old one as a spare for traveling, or in case of emergencies. This 2.5 years takes into account that I washed/dried in a regular laundry load at first. I did switch over to washing in a delicate bag and hang-drying, but I still think that's an impressive run for such a delicate item. I would suggest getting a darker color. I had caramel at first (I now use black) and if you use any skin treatments they can stain the lighter color. Not the end of the world, but not as nice looking with stains.

I have wanted one of these pillowcases for awhile. It is SO worth it. It feels super soft. More importantly, my hair is smooth in the morning, I don't have any pillow marks on my face, and the expensive serums I put on at night stay on my skin (and don't transfer to the pillow). I'm so in love with this pillow that I've purchased the SlipSilk sleep mask and the hair scrunchies. I bring these with me when I travel because I have to have them for a good night's sleep. It's also fairly easy to clean. I have multiple pillowcases now that I wash either by hand (or in the delicate cycle in the wash) with very mild laundry detergent (from The Laundress). The pillowcase has stayed as soft as the day I bought it.

The box is a lot smaller than I thought but it makes sense since it's just a pillowcase. It got white and it's a satin white. It feels so smooth. FYI, there will be wrinkles in the pillowcase since it's made out of silk. I have straight black hair so I can't say it's made a difference for me yet but it is luxurious to sleep on. I would recommend it if you can get it on sale,

hard to take care of but totally worth it
you may think this is a slightly frivolous purchase, but if you care about your hair/skin this is very very much worth the money. I went from using this case for a few months and had to sleep on my regular cotton case while the silk one was cleaned/being dried, and I noticed such a significant difference.
