It's a yes!
I found this after a male-coworker asked me why I look chalky after applying a famous white folks mineral sunscreen. I looked like a ghost! This product spooked me at first squeeze: how was this reddish brown chalk supposed to be invisible on my yellow-medium skin? Truth be told, it is not, BUT almost 90% of the product used and 4 months later of daily use, I can say Unsun ended up being just what I needed, at an excellent price. It is thick and chalky like many other mineral sunscreens I tried, which is a feature I have grown to accept and desire. A city girl all my life, my skin is easily and often aggravated by construction dust, fumes and smoke galore. This provides a thick coating over the skin keeping pollutants AND the sun out. Bring it on subway breeze! Ew. The hue is not like a BB cream, made to match my precise tone, but instead neutralizes my deep under-eye circles. It makes me look...calm. I have wished I had this on when I went partying in the evening for the tone smoothing properties! In the day, I do not need makeup, and just a bit of eye concealer pops and sticks well with this as a base. I can imagine your liquid makeup would look great over. My acne and sebbhorea have healed underneath. I use a simple moisturizer underneath (a must, as this is thick) and sometimes also eye creams, vitamin c serums, or lactic acid exfoliant. All stay put underneath. I take off with oil and then cleanser. As summer approaches, will likely wear on days spent in the office. For weekends and days with lots of travel, will look for a second option, as I have experienced burning on 30 spf mineral sunscreens. As a winter sunscreen for a city woman, you must try this!

didn't work with my skin
I was so ready to love this and really disappointed it didn't work for me. I have combo skin (oily but dehydrated) medium with neutral undertones (mediterranean) and this went on a full shade (maybe a shade and 1/2) darker than my skin tone. The description states its for fair to deep skin but I can't imagine anyone darker than medium wearing this. I was fine with it as I could skip the bronzer and it would be perfect for summer. Very creamy, spread easily, no scent, and had a super nice satin to dewy finish that didn't emphasize my pores. I was thrilled. Unfortunately, within 2 hours my face was super oily and it oxidized horribly, turning very orange. I tried skipping moisturizer as you really don't need it with this unless you're super dry, and it still oxidized. Put it directly on bare skin...orange. It also transferred to everything it touched and stains clothes, not to mention leaving my cell screen a mess. Although it didn't work with my skin chemistry, I still highly recommend you try it and see if it works with yours as the finish is awesome and the ingredients stellar.

Best sunscreen for dark skin
I have medium-dark skin (I'm of Indian descent) and like many melanin-heavy ladies, I've struggled to find a sunscreen product that I can use on my face that doesn't leave me with an ashy, grayish tinge. Unsun is awesome. I love how it melts into my skin and disappears completely under my makeup.

heavy and not for lighter skin types
If your skin is on the lighter side, this tinted SPF may not be for you. On my skin (1 or 2 steps above fair in the winter), the tint was just too much. It might be ok in the summer...but on top of that, it also felt heavy and a bit sticky on my skin, which might be ok if you are going to apply foundation over it. I don't think the product is bad, I just don't think it is meant for all skin types.

Invisible on dark skin!
I am so happy that I have found a mineral-based sunscreen that does not show up on my medium-deep (NC44/45 in MAC) skin. I have tried so many sunscreens but to no avail. I find this to be very hydrating, easily to blend (although it appears thick), and adds a nice glow to the skin. My only two complaints are that the very emollient and radiant formula is something that incites nightmares when I think about putting it on my acne-prone, oily skin, and I did find it difficult to get off (meaning, on the bright side, that it is very water-resistant, which is great for beach/pool days). For right now, I use it on my body (which, honestly, does make for a pricey body sunscreen but that lack of white-cast is everything). However, I hope to see them come out with this in a larger size for body and for something for oily, facial skin in the future.

No streaks and protects
No white mark streaks like sun screen you can buy over the counter. This is tinted so it does provide sheer coverage. It helps to keep skin protected too!

It's about time!
I have been looking for a physical sunscreen that doesn't leave me ashen for SO long. To give you a visual of my complexion, I am a similar shade to Viola Davis. This unfortunately means that every sunscreen containing Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide has left me looking holographic with a blue sheen. I don't wear makeup so there's no covering up this nightmare. I came across this sunscreen on Instagram and emailed the company for a sample just to make sure I wouldn't waste my money. The first satchet I received was a little dry and piled up on my skin but the second satchet felt like silk. I decided to wait it out for a little then a week later this sunscreen is available on Dermstore and now I am the proud owner of this near-perfect product. In my experience it helps to wear a light moisturizer under this to help with blending. It is VERY moisturizing and can you leave you shiny if you're out in the heat but it's nothing too serious. I've made the mistake of putting on too much a few times and it does leave a touch of a cast but if you apply it properly it's perfect. I dab a little on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and blend outward. Unsun blends like a dream, keeps my skin hydrated, and doesn't break me out. If you're feeling hesitant then definitely email the company and try it out for yourself.

My Favorite SPF EVER!!!
As a mixed race adult female, I have struggled to find a mineral sunscreen that didn't make me look like a ghost. Little did I know that I would also find a sunscreen that could replace tinted moisturizer and foundation and give me an incredible glow. It has replaced my daily moisturizer and base and I get regular compliments on how great and glowy my skin looks. It has changed the sunscreen game for me. It is amazing and affordable!!! I recommend it to everyone!

Fantastic Sun Protection
I've been searching for a sunscreen without a ton of chemicals that would be effective for my darker complexion. Most sunscreens I've tried in the past leave a visible residue after I apply them to my skin. With Unsun, I've found a product that has made a day at the beach or beside the pool easier. No more worrying that my skin is absorbing a bunch of harmful chemicals. No more worrying that I have streaks along my back, shoulders or face. No more worrying that my sunscreen is not fully protecting me from the sun. I'm excited to have found this product and it's great that Dermstore is selling it for a good price with fast shipping. Win-Win.
