Staple product
I’ve bought this booster countless times now. It’s a staple in my routine. Calms, soothes, and lightly hydrates after applying the BHA 2% liquid and Niacinamide serum in the AM.
Report this reviewThank you so much!
So, I am a 42-year-old fair skinned white female who has suffered from rosacea for approximately 10 years. I have also suffered from what I thought was adult acne for over 20 years. I received Paulas Choice azelaic acid as part of my BeautyFix box several months ago. I assumed since it was an acid that I would not be able to use it on my face. My dermatologist tells me to use absolutely nothing that is harsh. I had it sitting in a box under my sink for the last few months with other items that I have not tried yet. I came across an article saying that this particular acid product was great for rosacea. I was in the middle of a bad rosacea episode, my cheeks were very red, I had a pimple like blemishes on my cheeks, forehead, and nose. I looked ridiculous and felt horrible. I decided to go ahead and try this, because why not? Nothing has been working. I started to see results after three applications. I used it both in the morning and at night. After the second day of applications, I almost cried because the results were so dramatic. All of the pimples and redness associated with them was gone. I still have some flushing in my cheeks, but I don’t know that that will ever go away. What I can tell you is that I have a beautiful clear complexion and I don’t even wear makeup, besides mascara, anymore. I’ve been using this now for about 3 weeks and I am so happy with how I look and feel now. My skin is not dry when I apply this. It does not feel tight either. It goes on and sinks into my skin and leaves it semi matte, not at all shiny. I’ll leave this on for at least a half hour before I apply any moisturizer. I am using it morning and night after washing. There is a short adjustment. For this, I noticed that I felt a slight stinging or burning sensation after application for about an hour. It was not highly uncomfortable. Now that I’ve been using this for a few weeks, I no longer feel the sensation. I would say it took about two weeks before that sensation stopped after application. Apparently this is very normal. For anyone suffering from rosacea and or acne, please try this! I have tried so many prescription products from my dermatologist, antibiotics after antibiotics, clean eating, lots of exercise, no alcohol or sugar. Absolutely nothing has worked before. This has been absolutely wonderful for my skin! I have even done IPL treatments numerous times throughout the years. They have not worked as well as this.
Report this reviewGood Intro to Azelaic Acid
I started using azelaic acid at my derm's suggestion to help with my mild rosacea and some hyperpigmentation. I use this one as the exfoliating step in my skin cycling routine and have had no purging or irritation. My skin doesn't feel tight or dry after applying, which I prefer over the Rx version I'd tried before.
Report this reviewWorks fine
This is a well-priced product that is a good treatment step in a skin care routine. I do think it helped reduce redness in my skin. I ultimately scaled my routine way back and use tret as my only active, so I did not repurchase. If you like Azeleic acid this is a very good one.
Report this reviewGreat product! 👍
I’ve been using this for close to a year now, and I’ve been pleased with the results. For me, this has been gentle enough to use everyday. It’s evened my skin tone and helped fade some dark spots. It’s helped with some pesky breakouts, too. Would recommend.

Love this product so much, been using it for a year now, helps to fade my scars and control my breakouts
Report this reviewHelps prevent the little breakouts
This is great for getting rid of tiny stubborn zits. It also helps to cut down the oil and sebum production.
Report this reviewI love this
I love this. It’s a bit expensive but it works on keeping acne on check.
Report this reviewTingly skin
Not sure if I layered incorrectly buy my face turned red and was tingly. I also saw some unusual flaking yhe next day but maybe that means it's working!
Report this reviewExpensive but very good
This is certainly overpriced for what it is, but it’s worth it if you wait for a sale. There are cheaper OTC azelaic acid products but they just aren’t formulated as nicely as this. Every once in a while, I’ll find a little granule in this cream, but it’s otherwise quite smooth and emollient. I would caution that it’s easy to overapply because of how creamy and lovely it feels. I have very sensitive and dry skin, and this doesn’t dry me out! My skin does flush sometimes after application. I find the flushing is worse if I go right in with an occlusive layer on top — perhaps the occlusive layer traps a bit of heat? I apply this at night after lightweight essence or serum, then I wait a half hour or so. Then I follow up with a richer cream to lock it all in. Works beautifully for me! Time will tell if it helps with hyperpigmentation, but so far no adverse reactions.
