After shampoo, pump a handful of foaming gloss into your palm and massage through hair. Leave on 3-5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Follow with conditioner. Rita recommends using 2-4 times per week. Just Foam - Rinse - Go.

I had used both this and the clear gloss in the past, but I've rediscovered this one during the last few months. While salons have been closed I've been trying to color my own hair to cover up the gray, and I've had some unfortunate orange-y results. This really works to correct the color, and I like the way it makes my hair feel-it's shiny but also has great body, unlike some products that leave my hair feeling limp. I'll definitely be repurchasing this.

I have tried many anti brass products over the years. This is a fairly straight forward foam to be applied between shampooing and conditioning. I don't feel it adds a lot of tone to the hair or that it really cuts brass, it does however add shine.

Did not work for me. My hair broke off after using and it looked even oranger afterwards. Maybe this was a bad batch but would not purchase again. Plastic packaging was also thin and felt cheap.

I recently colored my natural medium blonde (maybe 15% random gray) with a 4 to1 mixture. I wanted to use a neutral light blonde color without using the usual peroxide. The color came out great...except for about 2 inches of "hot roots". It destroyed the whole look, with a strawberry blonde color at the crown, and a nice neutral soft blonde down to neck length hair. Total bummer. I tried various popular (and expensive) purple shampoos and conditioners . None worked well, if at all. I was ready to pay a LOT of money for a color correction. I found the Rita Hazan line at Dermstore on a last ditch effort search. I bought the shampoo, this Breaking Brass Gloss, and the Conditioner. Used it today, and I can't believe the results. GONE is the reddish gold "crown". The desired color is consistent throughout. After shampooing, I applied the gloss liberally to the crown area, left it on for three minutes , and added more, pulling it through to the ends for another 2 minutes. Rinsed and followed with the conditioner. Perfect soft, smooth, shiny results!! Hope anyone who has had this happen, will give this product a try.
