Works well, smells weird
I feel like it works well. Like other SkinMedica moisturizers, this sunscreen does not feel too greasy or oily. It goes on a bit white, but does fade. I like the product, but it does have a very strong odor. It smells like plastic. But I am not that sensitive to smells so I can tolerate it.

Pricey but great sunscreen
Nice clear sunscreen that does not leave a white color on our face. It goes on very smooth and does not appear heavy. The brand is expensive but good sales here on Dermstore!

LOVE the texture, absorbs easily, doesn’t pill!
I received a sample of this from Dermstore as a gift with purchase from SkinMedica and have just now gotten around to using it. The texture is absolutely amazing, I usually use the EltaMD UV Clear 46 but that one pills up and it drives me crazy. I have been searching for something similar with a comparable level of UV protection, and this seems like a good fit. This sunscreen has a somewhat similar consistency, also contains niacinimide, and isn’t pilling! Wow! It’s a game changer and although I haven’t used it long enough to know the long term results, I’m satisfied enough right now with the level of UV protection and the consistency/absorption that I will probably be purchasing when I run out of what’s left of this and my EltaMD sunscreen. So far so good!

Stinks!
I was so excited to try this product but it smells terrible! Almost like it's expired. I contacted Dermstore and they said they would pass on my feedback. Umm okay. So much for wasting money.

Great everyday face sunscreen
Priced and sized fairly the SkinMedica essential defense is easily absorbed and doesn’t leave a cast. I can layer make up over it and there is no piling.

Sunscreen for dark skin
Hi I’m on a hunt for a sunscreen that doesn’t leave a cast on my dark skin but that provides good sun protection. This was one of the ones I have in my rotation. I do find that if it’s not the white cast it can be oily on my already oily skin.

Great for Sweaty Faces
It's difficult to find a good sunscreen that both lasts and doesn't start sweating into my eyes causing that icky burning sensation. I've been using this one for the past month on my running days and I am pretty satisfied. It's small and compact, making it easy to travel with. Goes on smooth and stays put. No fragrance, and easy to reapply if need be.

Really like this product. Doesn't cause breakouts. A tad bit thicker than EltaMD Clear SPF 46 but that's not a deal breaker. Good to alternate with.

Excellent
Excellent sunscreen with the incomparable SkinMedica texture. I wasn’t sure if it would be drying - I’d say I’m more combination-dry than oily-combination but it’s fine as long as I use a moisturizer. Great product, goes on well under makeup.
