Good sunscreen, and a little moisturizing
Although this product is on the expensive side, it is sometimes offered on a special price, and that is when I purchased it. It was recommended to me by my dermatologist as a sunscreen, and I find it to be moisturizing also. I would recommend this for anyone that would like a simple skin care routine. I apply a retinol underneath it and find it to be a good regimen.

Great sunscreen for melasma
My dermatologist recommended this sunscreen a couple years ago to help my melasma from getting worse in the summer months. It protects from infrared rays (most sunscreens don’t) which can worsen melasma. I wear this everyday in the summer months (or the tinted version). It goes on smooth, a little thick, but doesn’t leave much of a residue. Highly recommend for those with melasma wanting extra protection!

Finally a sunscreen that works for combination/oily skin
I have combination acne-prone skin so sunscreen has always been a tough one to find. I've tried many different types over the years and while I like the ingredients and efficacy of some such as EltaMD Clear - I've never been completely comfortable with the finish it leaves on my skin as I progressively get more oily over the course of the day when I use it. While I'll still use EltaMD on days when I'm outside for a significant amount of time - I am really happy that I finally tried SkinMedica Total Defense + Repair for the days when I just need a base level of protection while being mostly indoors. It leaves my skin feeling velvetly - not oily - and remains that way through the whole day. The only thing is that I wish it had a higher SPF then I could use in every situation!
