Beauty Editor Review of the Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask
Sisley Paris products are formulated and infused with some of the most powerful skincare active ingredients, giving way to energized, renewed and revitalized effects. Their leave-on mask is no different. Counting vitamin E and chlorella as hero ingredients, which are lauded for their ability to revitalize the skin quickly, the star ingredient of the show is black rose, an ingredient I wasn't all that familiar with but quickly fell in love with.
I tried the Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask on more than one occasion, and every time it delivered results. My first experience with the delicately rose-scented mask was while on a recent trip out west. My ordinarily oily skin took a turn towards the dry side, and no matter what moisturizer I used, my skin could not drink it up fast enough, only to return to its semi-dehydrated state a few hours later. So, giving this mask, which targets dry (check), dehydrated (check) and mature (check) skin, was my saving grace to help undo any damage caused by a lack of humidity in the air.
My first impression of the mask was how luxurious its texture was—not too thin, not too thick, and with a somewhat cooling effect as soon as it hit my skin. Throughout the whole time I had the mask on my face, it never felt tight or like it was drying out my skin—you know when you have a face mask on, and you open your mouth or lift your eyebrows, and it feels like it cracks? That never happens with this one.
I let the mask sit on my skin for 15 minutes before wiping it off. Since it absorbs into the skin, you don't need to rinse the cream formulation; just use a tissue, towel, or facial cloth to remove the excess. That's when I saw the real magic.
My skin felt as smooth as a baby's butt, perfectly hydrated by not oily, greasy, or shiny, and as soft as a peach. Plus, it had the most gorgeous, natural glow to it. When I put my foundation on later that night, it glided on and blended effortlessly. Where there was redness before using the mask, all that there was now was more evenly toned skin with a healthy glow. Ever since using the Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask, I've made it a weekly staple in my skincare routine, and my skin thanks me for that.
The Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask boasts a super creamy texture that easily glides onto the skin. Ideal for moisturizing the skin, this revitalizing cream mask is neither too thin nor too thick and has a delicate rose scent.
Unlike other face masks that require the use of a facial brush to spread the formula around, the texture of this mask is so luxurious that you can easily apply it with your fingers.
Apply a thick layer of the mask to clean, dry skin on the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Let the mask sit on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes, then wipe away the excess. Use this face mask two to three times per week.
The Transformation
The first time I used Sisley Paris Black Rose Mask, I was floored by the results. Within seconds of wiping the mask off my face, I noticed that my skin was dramatically softer, smoother, and more hydrated. It was like my skin went back in time and looked and felt at least five years younger. There were a few nights when I used the mask as a leave-on overnight and woke up to a glowing complexion that was perfectly hydrated.
One thing I don't like about many face masks is that they drip, turn sticky, or leave an annoying residue on the skin. But this mask does none of that. It's also the perfect at-home mask for self-care Sundays, spa days, or just when your skin needs a quick boost. I also love using the mask right before a night out—my skin radiates luminosity and is perfectly dewy, and my makeup always looks that much better.
Since incorporating the Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask into my regular skincare routine, I've seen my skin become more hydrated, bouncier, and plumper, with a youthfulness that I absolutely love.
