Cover grays naturally and without irritating the scalp with Temporary Color Gel from Christophe Robin. The ideal solution for those who want to cover their first grays without commitment, this innovative formula contains natural protective ingredients that cover grays by blending them into the base hair color. Easy to use with no mixing required, the pigments gradually and evenly fade with each wash to avoid the root effect spiral. Composed of 92% natural-origin ingredients and pure pigments, it is made without oxidants and ammonia. Its gentle formula, enriched with protective plant extracts, immediately covers greys by surrounding the hair; then washes out evenly over shampoos. The elegant shades perfectly match the color for a natural and radiant result. Hair is luminous and looks fuller. Choose the shade closest to your hair color. This color gel cannot lighten your hair.

Wash hair with a silicone-free shampoo such as the Brightening Shampoo with Camomile and Cornflower, the Purifying Shampoo with Jujube Bark Extract or Hydrating Shampoo with Aloe Vera to prep the hair. Do not use any hair masks or conditioners. On towel-dried hair, apply the color gel. If covering only a few grays, use the applicator brush for a targeted and natural result. Otherwise, apply it evenly throughout the hair. Leave on for 40 minutes. To rinse, add a small amount of water, then emulsify by massaging the scalp to help remove excess product. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Do not wash your hair after rinsing. The temporary color gel can be used as often as needed. The reusable kit is suitable for two applications for mid-length hair, or several applications for touch-ups. Please note: if your hair is very porous, the gel might darken and grab onto the lengths while rinsing. In order to protect them and avoid an unwanted result always apply nourishing care onto the lengths during the color gel’s leave-in time. Color hold is from 5 to 7 shampoos. It is not suitable for bleached hair or highlights more than two shades lighter than base color.

Disappointed
Love the fact that this temporary gel does not affect the texture of my hair (i.e., make it feel like straw), the directions were clear, and the color easy to apply. Unfortunately, the color does not remain intact. I tried the gel on two separate occasions - and both times, my gray streaks showed as soon as my hair started to dry. The first time, I followed the directions explicitly for touching up grays (blending the few I have was the sole reason for this purchase). The second time, I left the gel on for an hour (45-50 mins are suggested for "stubborn" grays). Same result. It should be noted that I purchased the Dark Chestnut even though I have black hair; it was the only available color offered. However, since my intent was to blend, I thought the shade was still a worthy choice (I have brown highlights, and "soft black" hair so wanted a natural look).

Nice between salon trips.
I’m dark brown with a few pesky greys that I like to keep covered between salon visits. Salon trips are expensive and this helps me squeeze out a few weeks (or more if necessary) between visits. It’s easy and I love the fact that it’s not permanent.

Nice between salon visits.
I liked to use this between salon visits just to hit those pesky greys. Full disclosure: I don’t have a lot of greys, so my review is based on someone with a few popping out here and there on the roots. This did the trick as an easy fix. After you shampoo your hair you just leave this on your wet hair for 40-50 minutes and then rinse out. I’d recommend using conditioner on your ENDS ONLY in order to keep them moist. The color lasted nicely between shampoos (I don’t wash my hair every day though). I’d say it’s definitely a nice fix if you want to squeeze a few more weeks between salon visits. It’s also cheap considering you don’t have to use that much. For those who have a lot of greys at the roots you can probably still use this. I’m a medium brown and this was a good match for me. If you have a full head of greys- this probably isn’t the right product since there won’t be enough product and I’m not sure it’s meant for that.
