SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.
Key Ingredients:
- 2% Dioic Acid: naturally derived from vegetables, this ingredient helps reduce excess sebum
- 0.3% LHA (Caproloyl Salicylic Acid): a lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA, evenly exfoliates skin, decongests pores, and refines the skin’s surface
- 1.5% Salicylic Acid: a beta-hydroxy acid refines pores and helps reduce the formation of acne

Works for generally unhappy skin
My skin has gone a bit haywire ever since the craziness of this year began. I wake up with new bumps several times a week whereas I used to just get them around my period. I was trying too many things and my skin retaliated big time. I ultimately pared back to washing my face with gentle cetaphil twice a day, using this serum daily, a province apothecary spot treatment for painful zits, jojoba oil for moisturizer, and a trusted sunscreen. Nothing else. My skin seems a lot happier with this routine and I can see my blemishes clearing up / not popping up every night. Fingers crossed the progress continues!

Blemish + Age Defense
I am giving this product four stars because I believe the company itself makes excellent products. However I will have to discontinue use of the Blemish + Age Defense after 3 applications as it is stripping/drying out my skin far too much (especially my cheeks). I am 56 years old and have oily and very dry sensitive skin and also suffer from rosacea. All that said, I am super careful about products as I suffered from cystic acne from 35-50 years of age. I tried the LHA cleanser as I must have a cleanser to decongest pores. I like the cleanser although it is drying (have used for two weeks). I tried the Blemish + Age Defense serum, it doesn't go on easily because my face is too dry from the cleanser. The serum is far too drying for my skin. I ordered the LHA toner but will just send that back as I feel certain it too will add to the drying problem.

Surprisingly, pretty amazing
I didn't think much of this. I figured I could buy a cheaper zit zapper and anti-aging promises are in everything else I use. But this really works, and it's so easy. I use this every few nights to keep things at bay. If I feel something coming on I use it then. It glides on (I think it has hyaluronic acid? feels like it at least), and my acne never surfaces. I'm on my third bottle. I keep thinking, "Do I really need this?" but if you break out here and there, then yes, this is worth the money. (It lasts a year, easy.)

too strong for me
This irritated my skin. My skin is very sensitive. I had to return it. The retinol is more gentle and does a similar job to get rid of hormonal acne. I wear sunscreen (Elta MD) but I don't wear hats to protect my skin so it got itchy and a bit red from this.
