good in combination with cream

This is a nice serum to use with a rich cream - it really makes the skin get a thorough hydration. A little goes a long way and this small bottle lasted me for months. I love the package - very convenient to use.

Not my favorite. I have combo skin and this essentially sat on top of my skin and never fully absorbed. I also had an issue with the dropper not picking up and dropping product.

Bad in cold, dry weather when you need it most

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I always wondered why my skin felt so dry when I used this stuff in fall and winter and then I discovered that in dry weather the topical application of hyaluronic acid may actually draw moisture *from* your skin rather than add to it. Hyaluronic acid climbed its way to fame for success in plumping the skin when injected. But it doesn't always work that way when applied topically. What really drove this home was discovering Hydrextreme serum. It's the same light-weight feel, clear serum as this, but no more dryness in wintertime. Zero breakouts with either, but Hydrextreme is also less expensive (buy from Costco) and made with two 100% natural ingredients, EWG approved. Will never go back to B5!

Great daytime product

I like using this under my sunscreen in the morning whereas a traditional moisturizer would usually feel too heavy. I use it at night under cream if I am feeling extra dry!

Okay, not great...

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've used the Hydrating B5 Gel for about a year and it does nothing for my skin. I actually feel like it makes my skin dryer. If I didn't use the SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser and retexturing activator, I would definitely be super dry. Probably won't be purchasing again unless they change the formula. I agree with other reviewers that there are better Skinceuticals products that do a better job of hydrating the skin.

Didn't notice a difference

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I used this product for about 3 months but I didn't notice a difference at all, my skin wasn't hydrated as it should have been. I think there's other skinceuticals products that do a better job, like the retexturing activator or cf fleurin serums

Very little hydrating

This product was on very easy. Seem to absorb quickly into the skin. Is not greasy. However I have fair skin and I live in northern climates - it has not helped with hydration.

Cannot live without!!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

The Hydrating B5 Gel has been apart of my daily skincare routine for about 7 months now and I cannot go a day without it!! It is completely worth the money. I have fallen absolutely in love with the product! I have extremely oily skin, but can get dry at times; this balances out my skin beautifully.

loving this product

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love this gel. It's not sticky at all, absorbs into my skin quickly, and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy or like there's a film over it. It feels so good to put on. Ideal for using in combination with a moisturizer or another hydrating oil/gel. I only wish that the bottle was bigger. Since it's pricey I do have to make sure that I only use a few drops - because I love it so much I could easily slather half the bottle on my face. Overall, a really good lightweight moisturizing gel. Doesn't clog my sensitive, acne-prone skin at all. If you have a lot of dryness, this alone probably won't do it.
