Powered by hyaluronic acid, cucumber, thyme, and other botanical ingredients, Phyto Corrective Gel cools, soothes, and helps strengthen the skin barrier. 1Protocol: A clinical study was conducted on 30 subjects, Chinese females, 18-50 years old, with self-perceived redness. Phyto Corrective was applied over the face. Infrared images and temperature was taken immediately post-application.
2Protocol: A study was conducted on UVB stimulated 3D epidermal model with a blank control, negative control, positive control, and Phyto Corrective. Filaggrin and Loricrin were detected with immunofluorescence technology and the efficacy of barrier repair of the sample was evaluated by the expression of the protein.

Gentle & effective product
I learned about this product from a clinical esthetician who performed a chemical peel on my face. I have sensitive, combination skin. Once in a blue moon, my face acts up and becomes red, dry, and flaky. I apply this product on my face at night and sometimes, my face is all better the next day. Other times, it may take a few days for the redness to go away. This product is really gentle and helps to calm the skin.

Good Product to Reduce Redness
I bought this product before my wedding as my skin was freaking out a bit. I bought it hoping it would calm down redness, and it did. That being said, I've struggled with SkinCeuticals products - they are almost too good for my super sensitive skin and I can't always handle them for long periods of time. My skin issues did persist and I switched to a less aggressive skin regimen that seemed to help. That said, I did find benefits in this product that were immediate and I would recommend it to anyone struggling with redness. Maybe be cautious with what else you pair it with if you have sensitive skin, however.

Reduces the appearance of brown spots and hyperpigmentation
I am not exaggerating when I say that I noticed improvement in overall skin tone after one use. I apply this serum twice a day (after cleansing/toning and using my morning serum or retinol at night), before applying a moisturizer. Newer acne scars appear less red and inflamed and, in combination with other SkinCeuticals products (Adult Acne Kit and Retinol 1.0), I have noticed a drastic improvement in other post-acne hyper-pigmentation. I have even started to apply it on my chest and back and I hope to see some improvement there as well. I personally do not find the product smell to be very bothersome (but it is not "fragrance free") and it does have a thick sticky feel to it at first, but it absorbs really well and your skin will not feel sticky after using it. I have found that a little goes a long way and you do not necessarily need the 4-5 recommended drops (2 drops will usually suffice for facial application). This is not as expensive as other SkinCeutical serums and I will definitely re-purchase.

Good but wish it did more
I like this product, but wish it did more. It has a cooling effect when you put it on to help with any redness and skin irritations, but I do not notice a drastic improvement in the redness overall. I wish it was a little more effective like all of the other products!
