SkinMedica's Age Defense Retinol Complex .25 is formulated to renew the skin's tone and texture without irritating the skin. Retinol helps combat the signs of premature aging while magnolia bark extract soothes inflammation. Ideal for use twice a week to build tolerance to formula.

Apply in the evening after cleansing and toning and before applying your moisturizer. If a retinol product has never been used before, begin twice a week 2-3 days apart, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each evening or as tolerated. Apply to the entire face. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.
Caution: Do not use if you are pregnant, lactating or planning to become pregnant. Mild redness, peeling and irritation are expected when using this product. Use daily sun protection with SPF 30 or higher and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week following discontinuation.

A Must-Have
This is my first time using a retinol product and I love it bc it has made a big difference for my aging skin (42 yrs old). I had a small bump on my nose from an enormous pimple when I was a teen. I’ve been using this product for two weeks now. Before this, I was using Sunday Riley’s A+ retinol, but wasn’t completely satisfied with the results. I can definitely tell the difference between the quality of ingredients between the two. This retinol soaks into your skin instead of sitting on top and leaving behind a shiny layer. I’ve been using it every other night followed with moisturizer. On the nights I use it, the next morning my skin looks more even and refreshed. I’m going to start using nightly and hope it helps clear up some of my mask induced acne.

First time retinol user
This was the first retinol I’ve ever tried. It took about 8 months to use the whole bottle because I had to start off very slow with only using it once every 4th day as my skin is VERY sensitive to everything. By month 4 I was using it 5-6x a week and my skin had adjusted. I love the packaging and how it really preserves the product from damaging light and maintains hygiene. I have moved up to the 0.5 now.

good "starter" retinol
not a lot of peeling with this retinol but i strongly dislike that skinmedica uses "pump" dispensers for a lot of their products. It makes it hard to utilize the end of the product when the bottle is almost empty.
