Q Hi there. I would love some help picking out some products. I usually always have combination skin where it’s dry and rough but also super greasy at the same time. I call it alligator skin. Lol. I’ve also gotten very prone to breakouts with age( I am 27 and it’s cystic acne on my cheeks and forehead now unlike what I got as teen which were simple pimples in the T zone area. It’s totally different than what I had before but I digress). My skin is sensitive to most acne creams and becomes even dryer and sometimes raw and painful especially with all the acne coming in st a certain time of the month. My dermatologist has tried many medications over the years oral and topical including clindamyacin lotion and retinol based medications but I get soo dry and flaky form them. My face just feels RAW and the acne tends to scar for a while. I have been trying different samples of things but haven’t found what works. I love s the hydration of a serum but I’d like to get some decent priced recommendations. Or I’d be willing to check if any higher end stuff has samples available. But I was also thinking I could try a micellar water I’ve nevrr used this before. Maybe in replace of toner? I used to use witch hazel as a toner but again pretty drying and most stuff won’t help with cystic acne. Besides a serum and micellar water I’m interested in a good moisturising protective zinc based face sun screen to protect from all these things and honestly anything else you could suggest to add maybe a certain type of face wash? I have tons of samples of various lotions and face washes from top brands but I can’t find the right one for my skin! It’s terrible and I’m embarrassed to go out without makeup but I haven’t been able to put makeup on because of my dry cracked greasy broken out RAW painful skin. I also have dark circles under my eyes at all times but I can live with that (just mentioning all my skin flaws) but I’m more concerned out the sensitivity and dryness/combination-ness of my skin and it’s painful breakouts! Any suggestion in a lower price range is appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I would recommend the brand Bioderma. Their Sebium Routine Kit will help with your skincare concerns. To this kit I would add their Sebium Exfoliating Gel to use 2-3 times a week. The kit is a nice way to get introduced to the brand and from there purchase in the larger sizes. Thhis brand is very inexpensive and it works !I hope this helps, have a nice day! Cyndee, Dermstore Esthetician
