Originally bought this balm for my face. I layered it over my moisturizer which just wasn’t cutting it. My face was still very dry even when adding this product. Works well enough for my arms…..will try it on my son who has eczema.

I have bad irritation on my face from a reaction to tret a while back, and have been looking for a moisturizer that wouldn't sting. This felt high quality, and was nice leftover on my hands, but still stung my face -- if you're really, really sensitive, I've been having good luck with cicaplast from la roche posay so far. Good luck!

Hoped this would help some face eczema from an allergic reaction as it is on my 'approved' product list after contact allergy testing at the dermatologist. Unfortunately my face did not like it but I'm using on my legs and it functions well as a thick moisturizer. Consistency is very thick, rich cream. Kind of similar to LaRoche Posay cicaplast b5.

I love everything Avène makes, great quality and fair price. I have been having skin issues for few weeks. I ordered this one and a repair moisturizer from Avène. I loved the moisturizer, but this balm has a smell...... it could be only me but the smell was overwhelming. I can't have that close to my nose.

I have only been using this balm for about a week and I love it. For months my skin has been uncharacteristically dehydrated and scaly. It felt like my barrier was completely destroyed and I couldn't find a moisturizer to help (making pimples so much more common and also so much harder to get rid of). In a matter of days I can already tell such a difference. The product isn't really like a balm. It feels/looks more like a thick/dense lotion that rubs in nicely. The bottle is also huge, it feels worth it for the price because you don't need that much when using it.

I have had persistent psoriasis my entire life and most recently developed both dermatitis on my face and guttate psoriasis over the rest of my body. While looking for an alternative solution to the harsh and expensive products, I came across this lotion and cleanser. By nothing short of a miracle,I have not had one flare up. To say I would recommend this to anyone, would be an understatement. Truly a life changing product for me!
